Health Tip: Limit a Young Child's Media Time
(HealthDay News) -- Young children are drawn to the ever-growing number of screens around the home.
But the American Academy of Pediatrics says parents should take steps to limit screen time, noting that too much of it means:
Kids may have a harder time falling asleep, as they are overstimulated.
Kids may develop problems with language, attention, thinking and social skills, because they don't interact as much with other people.
Kids may become overweight or obese, because they're spending less time playing.
Kids may develop behavior problems, as they try to imitate what they see on a screen.
